Hierrr! The Dachshund Day is coming to Zoetermeer again

Get your ‘I Love Deckels’ t-shirt out of the closet because it is almost time for it again: the Dutch day of the dachshund. From all over the country, dachshunds and their owners (pardon, staff) come together in Zoetermeer on Saturday 10 May and the event is almost taking place.

The Dutch Day of the Dachshund: perhaps the most hilarious event in Zoetermeer. Because the Zoetermeerse Dorpsstraat has been transformed this day into the domain of these funny critters and their owners. More than a thousand dachshunds will meet on Saturday 10 May. With summer weather, a dog storm course, dachshund beer and more, it promises to be a fantastic day. Even if you don’t have a dachshund.

If you don’t have a dachshund, no worries, just go out on Saturday to see these stubborn critters in sometimes hip outfits in real life. Between 11 am and 4 pm it is a big party in the old center of Zoetermeer. Tip: leave your dog that is not a dachshund at home. Dachshunds don’t like other species.

Play with your friends

What can you expect this day? In addition to a lot of barking dachshunds and cozy dachshund lovers from home and abroad, the Dorpsstraat will be transformed into a dachshund paradise. There are stands with dachshund related products, a dachshund photographer and entrepreneurs with great offers. The dogs can enjoy themselves on the storm track, in the ball tray or the terrace with a dachshund beer or dog ice cream.

The Dachshund Day takes place in Dorpsstraat Zoetermeer. You can park on one of the two parking areas on Osylaan. If you come from Zoetermeer, the event is easiest to reach with the tram (stop Delftsewallen), walking or by bike.

Visitors from outside Zoetermeer can park on the Silverdome event site on Van der Hagenstraat. From there a shuttle bus leaves for the Dorpsstraat. The last bus leaves at 4 p.m. to the parking lot.
