Jesús Ramírez is given a special honor. An award from the trainer is a novelty in the club history of Basketball Löwen Braunschweig.
Braunschweig’s head coach of Jesús Ramírez is for Trainer of the year in the basketball Bundesliga was chosen – a tight decision known on Wednesday. The 45-year-old Spaniard sat with him 30.6 percent of the vote before Danny Jansson (Heidelberg, 27.8 percent) and Janis Gailitis (Weißenfels, 18.1 percent).
The choice met the captains and assistant coaches of the 17 Bundesliga teams as well as media representatives and former professionals-and thus ensured a novelty: It is the first time in the club history of the Braunschweig Bundesliga club that a trainer receives this award.
Ramírez trains the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig since summer 2021. During this time he gave the team a new face: young, brave, hungry. Sananda Fru – under Ramírez ‘directed by the prime example of best German young players (U22) chosen. It is also going to be sporty: the lions play at the top and dream of their first playoff participation since 2019.

The award also stands not only for the trainer, but also for the staff of the year, the coach emphasized with a view of his team. And: “My team is a very special team. That is why this award is a team thing and belongs to all of us.”
Ramírez received the news about the win in the election on Wednesday before the video session with his team. According to the basketball Bundesliga club, a false clip with scenes from the Catalan was played there. At the “coach of the year” graphics, great jubilation broke up under the gathered team.
