SV Werder Bremen is planning for the new season without Marvin Ducksch. This is reported by the “Kicker“. According to this, the Hanseates are ready to talk to their top scorer, whose contract has recently been extended by one year by 2026.

License director Peter Niemeyer had claimed the opposite in the course of the extension in mid -April. “We are planning with Marvin for the coming season,” said the 41-year-old and emphasized that Ducksch was “extremely important” for the Bremen. Coach Ole Werner hit a similar notch shortly before confirming the extension: “I would be happy to work with him and would not have a problem if this cooperation continues.” But he was aware that “that Marvin will certainly be there for Marvin in summer. You will look at everything – and in the end make decisions.”

The attacker was associated with a change, especially last summer, and he had an offer from Saudi Arabia. “I had attractive inquiries in the past, but I won’t be left for a few euros more Bremen,” said Ducksch in January at the “Sport Bild”. He feels good in the city, Werder fits him.

Ducksch’s market value is currently at 7.5 million euros, it is one of the five highest in the Bremen squad. The fact that Werder collects almost as much for him in the event of a sale should be doubted a year before the end of the contract. In the summer of 2021 Ducksch came to the Weser for 4 million euros from Hannover 96. Since then he has contributed 53 goals and 39 templates in 132 missions, and this season alone are eight goals and ten assists in 34 games. He was in the starting eleven 32 times.
