The Champions League semi-final between Inter Milan and FC Barcelona delighted Europe. But there was probably also a negative highlight.
With 4: 3, Inter Milan prevailed against FC Barcelona in a crazy second leg of the Champions League semi-final. During the defeat, a Barça player was probably carried away to a nasty scene.
Shortly before the half -time break, Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored a penalty for the meantime 2-0 for the Italians. After the goal there was a pack formation around referee Szymon Marciniak. The reason: Inter player Francesco Acerbi is said to have been spit on Barcelonas Iñigo Martínez.
In a clip on the platform X you can see how Martínez runs out and his opponent spat on. But the truth also includes: Acerbi deliberately ran long before the Spaniard and clearly provoked in his direction. Marciniak briefly consulted the video assistant (VAR) – but no offensive behavior was recognized.
Even more satisfaction than the interim 2-0 may have excited for Acerbi in added time. Because there he secured the Milanese with his goal to 3: 3 the extension, which Inter won in the end.
