Whoever wins three duels is the national champion. That is the design of the title finals in volleyball. Last Friday Knack Roeselare won the first game 3-1 against Haasrode Leuven and on Tuesday evening Duel two was on the program.
Roeselare started scorching in Leuven and soon walked 6-13, a gorge that the home team no longer came over and so the first set went to the West Flemish with 17-25. In set two, Leuven started better and it took the lead himself, at 10-6 the visitors had to recharge. Roeselare then fought again in the set and at 16-17 the visitors broke completely, Leuven made only one point and so Knack also won set two with 17-25.
Continue to 0-3? No, the visitors made too many mistakes at the end in a similar set, so Leuven found a lifeline and managed to win the third set with 25-20. Set four also became a nail biter, both teams did not give each other a thumb-wide and at 26-27 Roeselare was able to finish his fourth matchball. 1-3 and 0-2 in duels.
For example, the West Flemish people take a new step towards their 16th national title. If it wins on Friday in its own Reo Arena, Roeselare is again champion!
