The German marathon record holder Samuel Fitwi prefers to start a large city marathon in autumn in autumn.
The German Association was informed about the decision, the 29-year-old from Trier said in an interview on the DLV website. “I will not run at the World Cup and have discussed it with the DLV. I will start in autumn in a large marathon. But the final decision, where, has not yet been determined”said Fitwi.
The World Cup in Tokyo will take place from September 13th to 21st, and the Berlin Marathon will also be held on the final day.
City marathons well -endowed
Since the city runs are financially attractive, many runners face the question of whether they prefer to compete over 42.195 kilometers or at the World Cup.
Fitwi had secured his sporting qualifications last December. In Valencia he ran in 2:04:56 German record and stayed for two seconds below the old record of Amanal Petros.
