After CDU boss Friedrich Merz failed in the first ballot in the Chancellor’s election, he advised himself in his office with colleagues and his closest confidants. The Union faction chairman Jens Spahn, the designated Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) and Merz ‘family were there.
