The White Stripes have not existed for years, but fans can still look forward to a new release. At least almost: the duo announced the new edition of an old album.
Double LP with long-awaited live recordings
Get Behind Me Satan gets a vinyl zreissue for the 20th birthday. It contains two plates: a bright red with black smoke fads, as well as a clear one with black and red smoke patterns. In addition to the well-known album Alternative Takes and Demos as well as the live recording of the songs, which was already planned in 2005. The White Stripes publish the new edition of the Grammy-winning plant on June 27 via Jack Whites label Third Man Records. The anniversary edition can already be pre -ordered.
The White Stripes expanded her style
Originally, Get Behind Me Satan consequently appeared in 2005 as the fifth album by The White Stripes. It is the succession to Elephant (2003), on which the band’s greatest hit, “Seven Nation Army” was represented. At the same time, it is the penultimate album before the band dissolved in 2011.
It was recorded and produced in Jack White’s own studio in Detroit. The front man and his ex-wife Meg White move to Get Behind Me Satan from their minimalist style with a leading guitar and instead incorporate the piano and marimba, timpani, mandolin or bell ringing.
In the USA, the album sold more than 900,000 times with the singles “Blue Orchid”, “My Doorbell” and “The Denial Twist”. In 2006, The White Stripes for Get Behind Me Satan was awarded a Grammy Award for the best alternative album. The duo prevailed against the musician Beck and the bands Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie and Franz Ferdinand.
For the ten -year birthday of 2015, the album was first released on vinyl. Before that, there were only exclusive pressures for music journalists: inside, since Jack White and Meg White had put a live recording for the public that never came about due to a lack of equipment.
