Holstein Kiel scored three important points in the Bundesliga table cellar. In Augsburg, the “storks” were efficient in front of the goal – and now hope for the miracle.
A clear away win at FC Augsburg makes Holstein Kiel dream of relegation in the Bundesliga. The team of coach Marcel Rapp won 3-1 (2-0) at the Fuggerstädters and, through success, approached the relegation rank 16. The 1. FC Heidenheim is currently there.
Shūto Machino took the lead for the guests from the far north (25th minute). Alexander Bernhardsson then pulled the connector (40th, 51st) to FC Augsburg.
The home team recorded significantly more degrees than the efficient Kieler, but the ball could not accommodate the opposing housing until shortly before the end. Then Steve Mounié still scored the honor goal (90th).
A key scene was the first goal in front of the 28,660 spectators in the Augsburg arena. A massive tackle by Chrislain Matsima against attacker Bernhardsson, in which the FCA defender also hit the ball clearly visibly, was punished by referee Harm Osmers as a foul. The video assistant confirmed the decision. And Shūto Machino converted with force from the penalty point (25th). Shortly afterwards, however, the shooter had to get out injured.
“We want to take the next step and come to the relegation,” said Kiel’s coach Rapp before the kick -off at DAZN. And his team consistently set the project against a Augsburg eleven that not only struggled with the referee, but also lacked Kiel effectiveness.
Official talent Mert Kömür failed twice on the heavily stopped thumb (18./21) before the break, like teammates Kristijan Jakić in a header set too centrally (43.). In addition, there was later a post shot from Alexis Claude-Maurice (64th). It was not the day of the Augsburgers.
But that of Bernhardsson. The 26 -year -old Swede always played his pace and his direct train to the goal. He reacted in his sixth goal of the season when he headed the ball into the net after a wonderful pass from Steven Skrzybski after his initially blocked shot over goalkeeper Finn Dahmen.
And when it comes to the number of seven season, Bernhardsson completed ice cold after another fine pass from Skrzybski. The Kiel fans who traveled with them celebrated the match winner and their victorious team for the first time in the Bundesliga. The relegation is within reach.
