The number 1st world hits the title of the Spanish WTA 1000 for the third time: it ends 6-3 7-6 (3)

Aryna Sabalenka wins the WTA 1000 of Madrid for the third time in his career at the end of a game that has disappointed expectations. She and the opponent, Coco Gauff, had played an excellent tournament, and therefore there was a much more fought and spectacular match. It was partly in the second set, even if too many free mistakes and nervousness took over. In the end the n. 1 of the world with a score of 6-3 7-6 (3) after an hour and 39 minutes of play. For the Belarusian it is the third seasonal title and the twentieth in his career, he also becomes together with Petra Kvitova the only player to win the Spanish tournament three times. With this success, and with the defeat of Iga Swiatek, Sabalenka literally takes the flight in the standings, breaking 11,000 points.

The match

First set literally dominated by the Belarusa, who despite not being at the most to the service has been able to impose his own game, managing perfectly the (few) difficult moments of the partial. With her, the “game” of the Gauff, that is, to make the opponent nervous with a great defense and then attack at the right time, it does not work: the game of Aryna is too powerful. In the second set, however, the game was much more successful: the Gauff tear the break at the opening, but then immediately the counterbreak during the ninth game, when the victory at least of the partial seemed to be done so. At the tie break, Sabalenka had no problems closing, reiterating that the great favorite, also for the internationals of Rome and then for Roland Garros, at this moment, is her, above all given the conditions of her great opponent, Iga Swiatek, in clear crisis.
