National coach Christian Wück continues to take part in Lena Oberdorf from FC Bayern at the European Football Championship in Switzerland from July, but wants to take peace in the decision.

“We still have enough time! The decision we will make together. That means that the player has to give the club and me as a national coach the sign of whether she feels fit or not. (…) But we should give her the time the injury needs,” he said on Friday.

Wück on. “We will choose the best for OBI, because if we make the mistake you take too early, then no one is helped, not the DFB, not Bayern and Lena Oberdorf either.”

After her cruciate ligament tear suffered in July 2024, the 23 -year -old Oberdorf takes part in the team training of the Munich team, but did not play a game for the club yet.

Most recently, Bavaria Director Bianca Rech had been pessimistic with a view to Oberdorf’s European Championship participation. Wück is still relating to the midfielder.

German EM start in early July

Wück emphasized around the DFB Cup final last: “The decision will not make me, the decision will not make Bavaria, but it will meet it alone. She knows her body, she can decide whether it will work or not.”

The German team starts the European Championship preliminary round in St. Gallen on July 4 in St. Gallen, and continues on July 8 in Basel against Denmark. The third group game of the DFB team will take place on July 12th in Zurich against Sweden.
