That is no longer the case, although the seaside town still asks not to get by car. On the E40 towards the Kust near Beernem there is a traffic jam due to an accident. There are also problems on the train. For example, in the municipality of Essen there has been a train stopping for more than half an hour with 250 passengers on board. Earlier today, no fewer than 1,000 passengers had to be evacuated from a train that stopped in Affligem.
