
Winter newcomer Daniel Svensson has been a direct hit for BVB so far. This is said to have made a contractual decision.
Borussia Dortmund is promoting squad planning for the coming season. Apparently, the BVB will strengthen itself with a player who has been established as an important factor in a short time: Daniel Svensson. According to information from the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung”, the club uses a purchase option for the 23-year-old Sweden and permanently obliges it from summer.
The left -back switched from the Danish first division club FC Nordsjælland to BVB in winter on a loan base. Since then, Svensson has convinced with a consistently strong performance on the left. He scored his first Bundesliga goal against Borussia Mönchengladbach, and he prepared two goals in the game against TSG Hoffenheim.
Trainer Niko Kovač in particular, the “WAZ” reports, is considered a supporter of a firm transfer. He was particularly impressed by Svensson’s physical presence and his robust style of play.
The purchase option is between six and seven million euros, reports the “WAZ”. It is planned to pull this before the start of the club World Cup in June and July. The reason: Svensson should be able to take part in the tournament, which runs until July 13th.
A fixed change to BVB should also improve Svenson’s opportunities in the Swedish national team. There, the defensive specialist made his debut on October 14, 2024 at 3-0 in Estonia. However, after his substitution, he was only one minute on the pitch.
The past caps in March against Luxembourg (0: 1) and Northern Ireland (5: 1) missed Svensson because of an inner ligament tear in the knee. For the first time in June 2024 he was nominated for the games against Denmark (0: 1) and Serbia (0: 3) for the “Tre Kronor”.
