Moere in Gistel in particular is one of the most important areas. Only the region around Izegem and Tielt recently received some rain. The rest of the province is described by the RMI as “extremely dry” with barely 12 millimeters of precipitation in March and April.

There seems to be no improvement in sight for the time being: the precipitation forecasts for the next ten days are minimal, with persistent extreme drought throughout West Flanders.
