In March, sales in German retail sank slightly.

Adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, the price-adjusted proceeds were 0.2 percent lower than in February, as the Federal Statistical Office reports.

The mail order and food business achieved light growth, while non-food such as textiles or shoes were more less likely than in February.

Compared to the same month last year, the real sales in March have grown by 2.2 percent. Including the price increases, it was even 3.2 percent more.
