FC Augsburg has extended Keeper Daniel Klein’s expiring contract by one year by 2026. The Fuggerstädter officially announced this on Tuesday. The former junior national goalkeeper switched from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to Augsburg in 2021, and he spent the season 2023/24 on loan at SV Sandhausen in the 3rd division. For the Augsburg professional team, Klein is still without commitment, for the second representative he was 22 times between the posts.

“I am pleased to continue my way at FC Augsburg. I feel in good hands both in the city and in the club and see the best conditions here to develop myself,” said Klein, who was found five times in the Bundesliga squad in the current season.

FCA sports director Marinko Jurendic said: “Daniel is an important part of our goalkeeper team in the current season. He is a reliable team player with a good performance culture that continuously works and brings his qualities for the success of the team. With his contract extension, we are still well positioned in the position of the third goalkeeper and look forward to further cooperation.”
