Antonio Rüdiger is a fighter on the pitch, a role model with regard to commitment and passion. But it is precisely this strength that is becoming more and more a weakness. Anyone who completely loses control at crucial moments – like Rüdiger recently in the Spanish cup final against Barcelona – urgently needs support. Not tactical, not sporty – but mental. And that would be a novelty, even during the games.

Of course, Rüdiger has consultants for his career planning, for sponsors, for media appearances, possibly also for mental coaching. What is missing is a professional who anticipates and catches his emotional outbreaks before you destroy his career. It is best to have an additional person on the bench, both at Real Madrid and in the national team.

If Rüdiger continues as before, his image will be damaged. Each additional scandal makes it a target. It’s all or nothing.

Anyone who believes that Rüdiger only has to be “clarified” fails to recognize the dimension. It’s not about a bad day. It is about a deeper emotional construction site that has long since required professional support at a professional level. If you play so high, you must also be able to control your emotions – or be helped.

If Rüdiger really wants to take the next step, then not on the pitch, but in the head.
