So the Frans Hals Museum, in collaboration with the Amsterdam Museum, comes with Faces of Noord-Holland: an exhibition about people who do not mainly form the rich elite of the time. The works exhibited, from paintings to audio portraits, show the North Hollanders in all its diversity and unfamiliarity. And to make the offer even a little more diverse, the Noord-Hollander has been invited to add his homemade portrait to the exhibition.
North Hollanders make full use of this. More than 60 works have been returned since the opening of the exhibition, early this month. If the expansion continues at this pace, the space for the delivered works – the top floor of the building on the Grote Markt – will soon be completely full. NH met some Haarlemmers who handed in their homemade artwork on Wednesday afternoon.
