The seventh championship title is perfect! The women of FC Bayern were able to prevail against SC Freiburg on the 20th matchday and thus make the master celebration clear. It is the third title in a row under the outgoing coach Alexander Straus.

The first freestyle of the season took place in the atmospheric Bayern campus on the 20th matchday. The third championship title in a series and the overall seventh for the women of FC Bayern was perfect with the 3-1 win against SC Freiburg.

Schüller meets 1-0

The Munich women had not lost any home game in the season. And that also stayed like that against Freiburg. An early advance by Pernille Harder found Lea Schüller via Sydney Lohmann, but whose flank landed in the arms of Rafaela Borggräfe. The guests also did not hide and tried to get through the Bayern goal cheekily.

After a balanced start, however, the game shifted to half of the Breisgau women. The Freiburg defense initially withstanded the rush of the Munich women. Until the 21st minute! After a free kick by Klara Bühl, Harder wanted to extend to the box. The 32-year-old did not hit the play equipment properly and jumped on the shoulder of Lea Schüller (21 ‘) and from there from there a short distance into the goal. For the 27-year-old it is the number nine. “German champions only become FCB,” the fans sang.

Shock for the FCB: Fölmli tunnel Mahmutovic

But it wasn’t that time. Because Freiburg remained unimpressed and shocked the Bayern women. In the 27th minute, a shot from Svenja Fölmli was still rushing past the post. In the second attempt, the Swiss (28 ‘) then sent the ball through the legs of Ena Mahmutovic to 1-1 to compensate in Munich.

Munich women with pressure on the title?

The hosts started in the second half with a lot of pressure. Schüller (47 ‘) was almost through after a lifter from Simon, but fell in the running duel with Julia Stierli. The fans demanded penalty, but the Munich attacker had probably slipped away. Even in the 53rd minute it was Schüller who took the leather after a Bühl chipball and put it from an acute angle. Shortly afterwards, Borggräfe was able to prevent the impact by Harder with a strong parade.

The top scorer of the Munich women added and picked up the 2: 1 after a Bühl corner. It was goal number 13 for the 32-year-old in the Bundesliga. In the 79th minute, the newly substituted Glódís Viggósdóttir picked up her goal. The captain also turned his head to 3: 1. The Freiburgers had little to oppose and so everything was done for the championship game.

Finale in the DFB Cup on Thursday

The next beer shower can follow on Thursday. Then the Munich women meet in the DFB Cup on Werder Bremen and can make the first double in the history of the club.
