A similar solution has been used in Pentagon, at least in situations where employees have monitored websites that would otherwise have been prevented. The user has not been part of the IP address space of the Ministry of Defense.
On the other hand, the use of a similar connection may expose the user to hacking.
Pentagon has confirmed that Heggeth does not use and has never used the Signal application on its official state computer.
