Marc Márquez remains unbeaten in the sprint. The six-time MotoGP champion also won the fifth short race of the season in Jerez and further expanded its overall World Cup lead in the motorcycle king class.

Márquez (32) prevailed on Saturday in front of his younger brother Alex and his teammate Francesco Bagnaia (Italy/all Ducati).

In qualification, Márquez had only finished second behind Yamaha-Pilot Fabio Quartararo.

In the event of an overtaking maneuver of the Spaniard in round two, the Frenchman then slipped away with his machine and retired.

In the overall ranking, Marc Márquez is now 20 points ahead of brother Alex before the main race on Sunday (2 p.m./Sky).
