Last winter, Franziska Preuss crowned the biathlon queen. After her triumph in the overall World Cup, the 31-year-old claimed to take a break.

After numerous appointments in April, she made “two weeks of vacation”, Franziska Preuss now revealed at a sponsorship date. It was nice to “treat the body to calm down in the spirit” and “not to talk about biathlon at all”.

In March, the biathlete won the overall World Cup as the sixth German and thus crowned the best season of her career.

Now the ski hunter wants to get back into training, because: “It has been little time for sport in the past few weeks.” From mid -May at the latest, she will regularly make her rounds in the stadium.

The new season starts in November, but “from September, October you can actually see me anywhere more than in training,” announced the winner of the big crystal ball.

To prevent diseases, you have to be “very careful” and reduce contacts, says Prussia.

Biathlon competitions at Olympics A “highlight”

In February 2026 the Olympic Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo are coming up – an absolute “highlight” for Prussia. For the long-term favorite, it will already be the fourth participation in the biathlon competitions, which are taking place in Antholz this time.

The past games in Beijing (2022), Pyeongchang (2018) and Sochi (2014) were “rather a bit off from the shot”, the DSV athlete pointed out.

Now she is looking forward to experiencing such a big sporting event with sports control, “fans” and “enthusiasm for sports in general”. “This is definitely the motivation to shine again in summer.”

Epic duel with Jean Monnot

Preuss had prevailed against Lou Jean Monnot in an epic heartbeat final in the last race of the World Cup season.

The French woman stumbled on the final round and fell, Prussia won the mass start and thus the large crystal ball for the first time in her career.
