The Royal Stables were built in 1904 on behalf of Leopold II. The architecture is inspired by Norwegian Houtbouw and Art Nouveau. Although the complex was originally intended as a stable, it was never used that way. Since the 1960s it serves as a sports center, including a boxing and judo club.

Thanks to this investment, the building will again become wind and waterproof. The technical installations, sports facilities and office spaces also receive an update. The renovation is part of the preservation of valuable heritage and the strengthening of urban sports infrastructure.
