Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, 73, will continue re -processing and the opening speeches will be heard on Wednesday. US media has highlighted a female -dominated junior: it includes seven women and five men. Five years ago, the fate of Weinstein was in court to decide on a smaller number of women.
The new trial is expected to last up to six weeks.
Five years ago, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and other sexual offenses. The Weinstein defense complained about the judgments and the court overturned the judgment because there had been errors in the trial.
The accusations against Weinstein came to light in October 2017 and they were the impetus for the #metoo movement.
In total, more than 80 women have accused Weinstein for, among other things, harassment and rape. Weinstein has denied all accusations and claims that all sexual relationships have occurred with consent.
Weinstein has been one of the most influential people in the film industry. He has produced several success films such as Pulp Fiction, In love with Shakespeare, Honorary bastardT and English patient. Weinstein’s use has, by allegations, been considered a public secret in Hollywood.
Weinstein’s condition is increasingly lower. Weinstein has been reported to suffer from, among other things, bone marrow cancer and diabetes.
