Teo had brought the Friulians to A-1 in May 2000, now it was up to the heir: “Then I was 8 years old, everyone talked to school. Today I live a special emotion”
It was May 2000 when Udine conquered Serie A for the last time. A historic company, signed by Snaidero and Captain Teo Alibegovic. Twenty -five years later, the story repeats itself: to bring the city back to the top flight is his son Mirza, he also captain, also the protagonist. Race-4 of that final playoff was won by the Friulians against Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto 82-81. The team captain was the former Yugoslav national team and then Slovenian with a past also at Fortitudo Bologna and Trieste. Often to follow him on the sidelines was his son Mirza who was eight years old at the time, first of three brothers linked by basketball: Amar, at the top of the Serie A standings with Trapani, and Denis, first in Serie B with Treviglio.
