From struggling with the tent poles to the most bizarre demands of artists. And from expensive dishes to a crazy purchase of a festival visitor. Paaspop in Schijndel is almost over. With 105,000 visitors and sunny weather, this edition enters the books as ‘insane’. These are the special, beautiful and funny stories of Paaspop 2025.

More than four hundred artists were found this Easter weekend in Schijndel during the start of the festival season. Yet the artists were ‘side issues’ for most visitors to Paaspop. In Schijndel everything revolves around the Brabant cosiness and atmosphere.

The start is always difficult
It all started on Friday morning at the campsite. “It’s not going so well here. First three hours in line and now we still have to build up,” says Huib from Heeswijk while he is struggling with tent poles. A little bit further on, Gitte from Oostelbeers is outdoor breath of pumping up her air bed. “It is tiring. It is the first time in my entire life at the campsite. I am already sorry.”

Paaspop is bursting with a lot of craziness
On Friday afternoon at three o’clock the fences of the festival site in Schijndel opened. The visitors were the first to face a lot of craziness. For example, the shoes of hundreds of visitors were polished, people could throw eggs during a jar of butter, cheese and eggs and visitors came especially for the mini golf course.

“How do they get it made up, how do they get it made up,” Rene says as he throws eggs. “Nice man. That’s how they do it here.”

Paaspop love story
Nicole and Sam are celebrating their one-year-old Paaspop jubilee this year. Last year the spark skipped behind the bar. A year after that special moment, the couple is back. Not to work, but to enjoy each other and the festival. There is only one problem according to Sam: “We don’t have the same taste in music.”

After a long whining, Myla (7) is allowed to go to Paaspop and Flemming
Normally the 7-year-old Myla is staying with grandparents during Easter. But now that her big idol Flemming is on stage, mum and dad are making an exception. A lot of ‘nagging’ preceded that. Myla had a special tactic: “When I arrived at grandparents, I always started crying and now I can finally come along.”

Staff shortage in the hospitality industry? Not on Paaspop!
Festivals do not notice the large staff shortage in the hospitality industry. On Paaspop there is even a waiting list this year to work behind the bar. For 17-year-old Nelle de Veer and 23-year-old Hannah Cox it is the ideal side job. They don’t have to buy an expensive festival ticket, experience it anyway and even have a pocket money. “Much more variety than in the pub.”

Seventy percent of all bar staff have no hospitality experience when they start at a festival. Horeca Nederland is happy with the popularity: “It is possible that working at festivals at employees fuels a flame to look for a job in hospitality on a structural basis.”

Artist is not happy with the color of the car
With more than 400 artists on Paaspop, the organization must also take into account 400 requirements packages. On Friday, Gijs de Louw did not know what happened to him. For an artist, a white Mercedes was ready to take him to Paaspop. “But the color was not good, it had to be black.” Immediately arranging a new one was impossible and so the artist had to board. “But for the way back we have arranged a black Mercedes,” says Gijs.

You don’t expect this: hospital in Paaspop
In order not to tax the care in the hospitals in Den Bosch and Uden, there is a mobile hospital on the festival site. Behind the mainstage is a bright yellow container. Inside it smells of hospital and this is how it looks. There are stretchers and monitors ready to visualize the health of patients. We got an exclusive look.

Hein buys police car at Paaspop for the Zwarte Cross
The ‘world famous’ police car of Lamme Frans was auctioned for charity on Saturday evening. The 24-year-old Hein from Olland laid down 2300 euros for the rejected car. “It was actually a joke,” says Hein afterwards. “We are going to take the car to the Zwarte Cross and the Solex race. And then possibly refurbish and sell.”

Eat, eat and eat again
“Just a big bite. That’s the cheapest and tastiest,” says Paaspop visitor Stijn as he nibbles on his fries. The choice is huge at the festival, but you have to dock a lot. This is partly because food trick owners give up on average 36 percent of a coin to the organization.

• Snack sandwich: 5.85 euros* / 1.5 coin

Three generations on Paaspop
Jolette (61) is with her daughter Pippi (29) and granddaughter Hazel of fourteen months in Paaspop. The family is from Gelderland. With family and friends they go out at Easter every year. “But we have to wait and see how long we will stay, because Hazel wants to crawl out of the buggy and crawl. But that is not handy here of course,” laughs Pippi.

Grandmother Jolette proudly looks at her granddaughter. “We just try it. It’s nice to be all of them here, to browse and look around. And if it’s not, we’ll leave again.”

Paaspop wants to grow once more
Festival director Peter Sanders looks back on a sunny and ‘incredibly beautiful’ edition. A total of 105,000 visitors, spread over three days, came to Schijndel this year. That number has been the same for three years. On the last day of the festival, Sanders expresses the ambition to grow a little more. “We want to go to 40,000 visitors a day. But that is really the max.”
