Eleven points ahead in 16th place, ten points behind in third place-for Hertha BSC, the last four game days of the 2nd Bundesliga are hardly relevant after the 3-2 victory at SSV Ulm. For Florian Niederlechner it is apparently a farewell tour, the 34-year-old announced his departure from the capital club.
“So my last games will probably be for the Hertha, but you can still identify,” said the 34-year-old at “Sky” after his winning goal in the 84th minute. It was his first goal since November and the seventh this season. The contract expires on June 30 and is apparently not extended again.
In January 2023, Niederlechner came to Berlin from FC Augsburg for 800,000 euros and was no longer able to prevent relegation in summer. Last year he was the third best Hertha shooter with seven goals, this season only Derry Scherhann (nine goals) scored more often. Especially in the second half of the season, however, the influence of the attacker, who led the team in the back series, made it as captain twice.
