A 16 -year -old boy went after the thief of his scooter on Saturday evening in Tilburg. He did that together with a family member. Soon they saw the suspect riding in the Brugstraat, but he managed to escape through a lawn. Moments later they finally lost sight of him. Eventually the police managed to arrest the suspect after a chase. It turned out to be a boy of fourteen.
The boy was eventually arrested in the Arent of ‘s Gravesandestraat. There he rode the stolen scooter. He suffered a lot of damage during the suspect’s flight, the police said on Sunday morning.
The victim of the theft was warned on Saturday at the beginning of the evening that his scooter was no longer on the spot where he had put it. He then suspected that the scooter was stolen and called a family member to look together.
When they then saw the suspect riding in the Brugstraat, they tried to block him the way. In vain, he managed to flee through the grass. And the duo saw the suspect drive away on the scooter via the Goirkekanaaldijk. They still went after him, but in the Vijverlaan they lost sight of him.
In the meantime, the police had also started a search. He eventually had more success and managed to keep the 14 -year -old boy in the Arent of ‘s Gravesandestraat.
