A small platoon of artists from the Drents painting society, including Van Ommen, picked up their brush and paint brush. In stages they traveled along the meandering stream, from start to end point. The creative people always gathered in a place, after which they were allowed to go their independent corridor. “Everyone then goes their own way,” says Van Ommen. “Then we come together in a cafe and we see from each other what we have done.”

The artists bundled their works of which Stream in the picture The result is. Van Ommen: “An incredibly varied book. And it provided connection. You do something that makes you get to know each other better. Otherwise you will only see your colleagues during meetings or exhibitions.” When asked if it didn’t seem to be mutually cluttering, he speaks to his own feelings. “I didn’t experience that that way. This was open and with respect to each other.”

The company was completed by Egbert Meijers, who wrote the texts for Beek in the picture. Around the appearance of the book, exhibitions and lectures are organized, to be visited in Museum Nienoord.
