The union that has won the America’s Cup of Vela twice announces that it will not participate “despite all efforts”
Aldhi Red Bull Team Racing will no longer participate in Vela’s America’s Cup. After having conquered it on two occasions – in 2003 and 2007 -, the Swiss of the patron Ernesto Bertarelli officially made an announcement that unofficially circulated in New Zealand, where the ‘Defender’ is based: “Despite all our efforts, we at Ainghi Red Bull Racing were unable to find an agreement with the ‘Defender’ of the America’s Cup for the future of the event – Published -We would have liked to see greater responsibility, greater transparency and new opportunities to compete not only individually, but also as a group. The press release closes then: “It is with great disappointment that we have started an orderly dissolution of the Aldhi Red Bull Racing team. The brands that have formed that team will always be part of the history of America’s Cup and the last few years have been an incredible journey. We thank each member of the team, sponsors and supporters for trust”.
