A year ago, Sara Sorribe Tormo won Olympic bronze in Paris a year ago. Now she surprised with a special post on Instagram.
Sara Sorres Tormo has contacted her fans with a thoughtful message-and also announced her preliminary retreat from the professional tennis. The Spaniard describes how much she last suffered from the pitch on the pitch.
“I wanted to tell you that I decided to take some time. Some time for me, for my mind and for my body,” wrote Sorribes Tormo on Instagram. The 28-year-old explained that the “happy and happy Sara”, which many know from the tennis circus, currently does not correspond to its inner reality.
She has lost the joy of training and competitions for months. Instead, the difficult moments would outweigh her. “I have been suffering on the tennis court for many months,” said Sorribes Tormo. The motivation to improve or participate in tournaments at all has also disappeared. In addition to support, she needs rest – how long the break will last is open to her.
Spain’s top star Carlos Alcaraz also moves the situation. At a press conference, the four-time Grand Slam winner said: “It is a shame that Sara, such a happy person, says these words. I hope she will find the answers she is looking for. Hopefully we’ll see her again soon-because she is a fighter.”
Sorribes Tormo has been one of the best tennis players in their country for years. In 2022 she reached 32th place in the world rankings. At the Olympic Games in Paris, she won the bronze medal in doubles.
