Lenny Kravitz took his fans on an exclusive tour of his Paris home in a new video of “Architectural Digest”. He also shows that he has his own private night club in the basement.
The stylishly furnished property bears the name “Hotel de Roxie”, named after Kravitz ‘mother, the actress Roxie Roker. “It was named after my mother because it was her dream to live in Paris,” explains the musician in the video. “She wanted to retire after eleven seasons, the Jeffersons’, but she never did it. So I do it for both of us. This house is a real gift.” Roxie Roker was primarily known for her role as Helen Willis in CBS-sitcom and died in 1995 at the age of 66 the consequences of breast cancer.
Lenny Kravitz: A tour of his Paris home
The home itself is a tribute to Kravitz ‘history and testifies to style: In the house, elegant, modern interior design meets personal memorabilia. Right in the entrance area is a concert wing specially designed with Steinway and abstract works of art adorn the walls.
Kravitz has been living in the Paris house for 22 years – but the real heart is in the basement: a fully equipped night club. Here he receives friends, colleagues and guests at private parties.

An entire room that is dedicated to his mother is particularly emotional – as well as another one who is reminiscent of the late Box Champion Muhammad Ali. “What I love about Muhammad Ali is his humanitarian work, his commitment to civil rights – he was a freedom fighter, and that is so important,” says Kravitz. “The house represents so many parts of my history, my development.”
His decision for Paris explains Kravitz by the fact that his label had difficulty marketing him in the United States at the beginning of his career. Then he was sent to France – and fell in love with the city: “It is simply an inspiring place – cultural: music, art, fashion, kitchen. It just has everything. I love Paris. I went through this front door and knew: I was at home.”
In addition to its Paris domicile, the “Fly Away” singer also has an individually designed Airstream trailer on the Bahamas and one almost 400 hectares of former coffee farm in Brazil.
