The event saw the participation of journalists, stakeholders and representatives of the main scientific and professional realities in the sector, but also of the actress Nicoletta Romanoff and the international artist Finley, who previewed the work “Love Your Eyes”. “We are today celebrating an extraordinary revolution in the world of vision, which has revolutionized the life and way of seeing and living millions of contact lenses – said Filippo Pau, president of Assottica – the industry is aimed at innovating every year, trying to observe also the lifestyles that change the carriers, then trying to adapt the technology, the materials”.
Today contact lenses are used for 60% by women, but interest among men also grows. The main reasons why contact lenses are chosen are freedom in the movements and the enhancement of the natural aspect. Professor Antonio Di Zazzo, ophthalmologist, a bio-medical Campus University Polyclinic, said: “It allows us to have an independence, in the movements, in everyday life, even personal, an improvement in self-esteem, a seeing better without the glasses. But also and above all moving around the world, improving self-esteem also means being able to erect themselves in everyday challenges”.
The important thing is to follow some simple but important rules, as explained by Professor Tereso Avitabile, president of the Italian company Ophthalmological Sciences: “The essential rule is 360 ° hygiene. Hygiene in the hands, hygiene when you put, when you remove, hygiene of the container, liquid hygiene. But they are simple, essential rules, not difficult to adopt”.
