Finally, FC Schalke seemed to be something on the up. Now the Ruhrpottklub embarrassed itself in the bottom of all. Düsseldorf won in the promotion duel.
FC Schalke 04 collected a bitter defeat in the 2nd Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon. After the last four points from the last two games, the “concise” lost 0: 2 (0: 1) in the bottom of the table Jahn Regensburg.
Christian Kühlwetter had the climber cheered for the first time (21st minute). Dejan Galjen met for the decision (90.+3). Regensburg can cause some hope in the relegation battle due to the victory. Schalke remains in the table of the table.
At the same time, SC Paderborn lost his home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf 1: 2 (0: 1). Danny Schmidt (40th) and Dawid Kownacki met with a penalty (52nd) for the guests. Ilyas viewed the outnumber of the East Westphalia (78th). Shortly before, Santiago Castaneda had seen the red card after an assault (63.). Düsseldorf is now fourth, Paderborn seventh, but still has only two points behind in relegation rank three.
Prussia Münster at home was able to develop an important point in the relegation battle around 80 kilometers as the crow flies. Against Karlsruher SC there was a 1: 1 (0: 1). Louy Ben Farhat scored for the Badeners after twelve seconds (1st). Marc Lorenz equalized to Münster by a penalty (73.).
Schalke remained harmless on the offensive and presented himself vulnerable on the defensive. So cool weather made Regensburg deservedly in the lead after a corner, Schalke keeper Justin Heekeren cut an unfortunate figure. Just two minutes later, the 24-year-old had another mistake who almost led to 0-2-but Tim Handwerker’s ball went just by.
With increasing playing time, Schalke tried to get a little better into the game – but the team no longer brought about a long -range shot from Tobias Mohr (70th).
The home side took command early. Adriano Grimaldi (9th), Filip Bilbija and Aaron tenth (both 23rd) awarded great opportunities. But Paderborn did nothing out of his superiority. Instead, Schmidt hit the surprising guest tour.
After the break, Kownacki increased from the point after Curda had risen to impetuously in the penalty area after a corner. Shortly thereafter, Santiago saw Castaneda Rot (63.) – he had freed himself away from the ball with one stroke against Schmidt. Paderborn then came out of the view and continued – even keeper Manuel Riemann tried a good 40 meters, but failed to goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier (81st).
The KSC developed many options in the first half, but the guests were far too sloppy. Goal scorer Ben Farhat, who caused the tour after a long ball, failed with one of the KSC tests freely in front of the goal (39th). The Münsterers stayed on and also came to their possibilities.
Prussia made the game in the second half. After about 70 minutes, the hosts demanded a penalty after a supposed handball by Dženis Burnić. And they got right after the video referee intervention. Lorenz converted into a deserved compensation.
