Hannover 96 loses his home game against SV Elversberg. But the defeat comes to a minor matter after the final whistle. The concern for a player is too big.

An already bitter afternoon for second division Hannover 96 was also overshadowed by a terrible scene shortly before the final whistle. The Lower Saxony lost their home game against SV Elversberg on 129th club birthday with 1: 3 (1: 0). However, the bankruptcy took a back seat in view of the horror injury of 96 professional Jessic Ngankam.

The striker was cleared in the last moments of the game by SVE player Paul Stock. The midfielder had initially played the ball, but hit Ngankam unhappily with the sailing leg. The result: Ngankam’s lower leg bent.

The 24-year-old immediately indicated that he had injured himself. Stock was visibly shocked, grabbed his head. Paramedics hurried on the field. Shortly afterwards, Ngankam was removed on a stretcher under the applause of the spectators.

The pictures of the scene suggest bad things. There is still no precise diagnosis, but NGANKAM is probably threatening a long break.

After the final whistle, Elversberg coach Horst Steffen said that it was “shocked and disappointed that he was so injured that everyone saw that this was a serious injury.” The guests also wished Ngankam via X “good recovery and all the best.”

Ngankam was awarded to Hanover to Hanover before the season. Since then, the former Hertha player has scored four goals in 27 games in the 2nd Bundesliga. He put on three more goals.
