The 40-year-old suspect of attempted murder of a 35-year-old man from the quarry can go home next week. The man from Zuidlaren must adhere to conditions such as a location and contact ban, and he also gets an ankle band. The judge decided that during an introductory session. The substantive handling of the case is in August.

The man has now been stuck for a stab incident on 1 September for half a year, around half past eight in the evening. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) reproaches the man for high speed at the victim with his car and stabbed with a knife in shoulder, back and chin. The victim was seriously injured to the hospital.

The OM is based on attempted murder because the man would have acted planned. In his phone his chat messages found in which he announced that he would do something about the victim. There was a long -term conflict about the education of a child. The OM opposed the suspension of the custody. The case is too serious for that, the public prosecutor said.

The OM also believes that the chance of repetition is present. All that makes it too risky to release the man. The judge agrees that it is a life offense with a possible planning, so a serious conflict. A prison sentence of twelve years or more can be imposed on this. It also happened on the public road: shocking to the local residents.

Nevertheless, the judge believes that the chance of recurrence can be deleted. The man showed a lot of regret towards the victim on the short session. “This should never have happened, he should never have experienced this,” he told the judge. The judge believes that the personal interests of the suspect are now going to weigh heavier.

The suspect has young children who have to miss their father. His company is also in danger of breaking. According to the judge, there are sufficient options for curbing any risks. Because wearing an ankle band still has to be arranged, the man has to wait another week for his release.
