In 2020 there were about 2,000 so -called “Mooimakers”, while there were already 3,300 in 2023. Nevertheless, West Flanders is lagging behind compared to other provinces.
According to Warnez, small attentions for volunteers can be an extra motivation. There is even a budget for it, but striking: 1 in 3 West Flemish municipalities does not yet use it.
