Live: AZ – RKC Waalwijk 1-0
At AZ Ibrahim Sadiq and Mees de Wit leave the field. They are being replaced by Ruben van Bommel and DESO Kasius.
After a good attack, Kees Smit puts the ball back on Mees de Wit, but the occasional links shoots the ball wildly.
The ball rolls again in the second half. Both teams have come from the changing rooms unchanged.
In the extra time of the first half, Alexandre Penetra heads over from a corner of Peer Koopmeiners.
The extra playing time is four minutes.
AZ turns on towards the break. A cross from Ibrahim Sadiq is taken out and a little later Troy Parrott sees his shot blocked.
AZ leaves the reins a little more proud and therefore RKC gets a bit more to the ball. The Waalwijkers have not yet managed to start danger, apart from a nice attack on the left.
Finally another chance. Peer Koopmeiners gets hard from a distance and Jeroen Houwen boxes the ball over the goal.
A lot of pain at Wouter Goes after he uses a sliding himself. It seems that the central defender of AZ continues to crochet in the grass. After an injury treatment of a few minutes, he can continue for the time being.
AZ easily lets the ball go around. It reduces RKC and the Waalwijkers keep the lines together. Especially on the right lies the space for Elijah Dijkstra and Ibrahim Sadiq.
Troy Parrott takes the lead. After putting good pressure, the Alkmaarders intercept the ball. Ibrahim Sadiq delivers him to Parrott and the Irish striker makes his 14th goal of the season.
A nice attack by AZ on the right side. Elijah Dijkstra, Kees Smit and Ibrahim Sadiq quickly combine, after which Troy Parrott shoots the cross.
Peer Koopmeiners shoots a free kick from the side of the penalty area towards the goal. His commitment flies well over the goal of goalkeeper Jeroen Houwen.
The ball rolls in Alkmaar at AZ – RKC Waalwijk.
AZ dealt with RKC Waalwijk at the end of August. The team of trainer Maarten Martens was very dominant and won 0-3 thanks to two goals from Ruben van Bommel and one from Mexx Meerdink. Michiel Kramer got red in the second half after an elbow pest against Wouter Goes.
AZ and RKC Waalwijk both have a lot to play for. AZ is currently in 6th place in the Eredivisie, but climbs to 5th place when winning on the Brabanders. RKC is the fence in the Eredivisie 17 points from 26 games.
Welcome to our live blog. Another one and a half hours until the kick -off of AZ against RKC Waalwijk.
