Washington (Dow Jones)-According to ISM, activity in the US industry slowed down in March.

The purchasing manager index of the manufacturing trade calculated by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) is reduced to 49.0 (previous month: 50.3). Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires forecast a decline to 49.5.

The mood barometer is therefore below the brand of 50 points, from which it signals a shrinking.

Among the strongly regarded sub -indices, the for new orders fell to 45.2 (previous month: 48.6), the one for employment went back to 44.7 (previous month: 47.6).

The index for production gave to 48.3 (previous month: 50.7), while the subindex of the prices exposed an increase to 69.4 (previous month: 62.4).
