Unbelief was the first feeling to read the unfortunate sea explanations of Mikko Myllykoski, the sports director of the Flyers after the farce season. The club published them On Instagram.

The goal of the beast was to brighten last season’s bronze medal, but the team of well over three million euros fell to 13th place and got out of the playoffs.

It was the worst season for the Flyers throughout the 2000s.

Myllykoski’s analysis of the gaming pancake was confusing.

– Good work in the offensive direction took energy from defense, and at the defensive end we experienced the biggest failures from goalkeepers, defenders and attackers, Myllykoski writes in his release.

Should the Flyers have attacked worse to make the result better?

Normally a well -organized offensive game automatically produces good defense game capacity and thus good defense play.

In the regular season, the Flyers controlled an average of 51.02 percent of playing equipment. The reading was the fifth highest in the series.

According to Myllykoski, however, the team did not “adopt a good enough reel game, which led to individual mistakes in the early part of the season”.

– This started to take public speech around the team in the wrong direction, Myllykoski explains.

Or yes.

Instead of just lurking the “general speech”, he should have helped to make the head coach more functional.

The reel game includes loss of reel, but they should not be too much in dangerous places. Kärp came because Ville Mäntymaa’s crowd had an unnecessary rubbing at their own end, such as Kalevan A great analysis was opened.

Although the November of the Flyers was really gloomy, Myllykoski says she saw light in the tunnel in December. The reason was the Spengler Cup, where the Flyers were involved.

– The teams that participated there are usually excellent, but we didn’t get the cheer that we had missed from that trip, Myllykoski was annoyed.

Thus, the team, which had played a stirring all fall, did not go up after the extra gaming and travel stress. Still, Myllykoski’s credit did not shake.

– In January and February, we sometimes played a lot or two, even a whole game, but the winning pipes of successive games were not achieved.

Really surprising that a good batch there and the other here did not lead to winning tubes.

When, despite the flashes, the point bag did not accumulate as desired, Myllykoski eventually pressed the panic button to the bottom of five rounds before the end of the regular season.

Head coach Ville Mäntymaa was fired.

– We trusted for perseverance and the course to turn. However, the result was dragging, Myllykoski justifies the hard decision.

In the case of the Flyers, long -standing meant that Mäntymaa was able to serve as a skipper of the ship for over a year. The novice coach jumped as head coach in December 2023.

The Flyers watched Mäntymaa’s grip on the head coach’s ball for a long -term one month before he was struck in January 2024 until the summer of 2026.

The tag was torn before the middle of the deal, and Petri Matikainen was hired as the savior.

– Matikainen was set up for the spark needed for the team, which unfortunately did not get full of whisper, Myllykoski explains.

Matikainen took two weeks in the organization that rely on a long -term organization.

At the beginning of his greeting message, Myllykoski told me that the Kärppi packing equipment and goalkeeper game were in order even before the start of the season. Only power was needed for the attack.

– They got them – Michal Kovařčík ended up in the league’s second and Reid Gardiner was seventh, the sports director praises his acquisitions.

Myllykoski also glows in the season’s players during the season, but at the end of the message, he says, “You have to do better in building a team.”

Also Once upon a time, the recruitment of a sports director should have been better succeeded.

Myllykoski was hired as the sports director of the Flyers in the autumn of 2023, although he had no previous experience of the job. TET training has now lasted for a year and a half.

In the Myllykoski era, Kärppi has been piloted by three different coaches. Next season is the fourth candidate. Players have been changed like a calendar.

Is it time to change the sports director next?
