In the years 1933-1945, the Nazi regime in many countries, including the Netherlands, robbed and confiscated an unprecedented number of art and culture objects from mostly Jewish owners. Return (refund) is essential in the pursuit of the legal recovery of the victims, therefore, the Netherlands is committed to giving back art stated by the Nazis to the rightful owners. This week, special representatives from 12 countries will come together in The Hague to exchange knowledge and experience in this area. The National Coordinator for the fight against Anti -Semitism (NCAB) is host.

Knowledge exchange
The delegations will exchange experiences with a refund in different interactive sessions. A visit to the National Holocaust Museum is also on the program. The Netherlands provides substantive contributions with regard to the importance of war archives and about dealing with so -called orphaned art. This approach is also instructive for other countries.
Orphan
There are still works of art in the possession of the Dutch state that were probably stolen from Jewish owners, but of which the owner has not yet been found, so -called orphaned Jewish robbery. It is becoming increasingly difficult to determine the rightful owners. Other countries face the same challenges. The committee orphaned Jewish roof art is currently looking at how the objects of which the owners have not been found can be transferred to the Jewish community.
