On Friday, March 28th, Young Scooter died after dealing with the police in Atlanta.
According to the “Atlanta Journal Constitution”, the police were called to the rapper’s house due to shots. However, he refused to access his house. This is said to have a dispute, whereupon Young Scooter is said to have fled through the back door of his house. Supposedly shots also fell and the musician was probably injured by the leg while climbing over the fence. He later died in a hospital, on his 39th birthday.
The exact cause of death, and whether his injury caused by the fence or possibly caused by a police shot, are currently still being determined.
Unexplained cause of death
The responsible police authority commented on the incident and denied that a shootout had occurred. The police spokesman Andrew Smith said: “Just to make it clear: the injury was not caused by the officials at the scene, but when the man fled.”
According to reports, there is said to have been a witness who was also in the house. So far, however, this has not been found and could not be asked about the case.

Young Scooter has been part of the HipHop scene of the United States since the early 2010s. In addition to his own publications, he can also be heard on numerous features, for example with Gucci Man, Young Thug, Future, Quavo or Offset.
Several rappers from the Atlanta rap scene reacted to the artist’s death on social media. Quavo divided a video from Young Scooter to X and wrote: “I can’t understand it”. Playboi Carti also showed his grief with a post on Instagram with the words: “I grew up with the shit”.
