A man (55) and Woman (54) from Brabant died in an accident in Egypt on Friday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed this to RTL News. It was not announced exactly where the couple comes from.

The accident happened in the town of Marsa Alam, writes Nu.nl. There a taxi collided with a pick-up truck. However, it is unclear which vehicle the people from Brabant were in. RTL News It does report that the van was on its way to an airport in the seaside town of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The travel organizations where the two had booked the holidays confirm the accident to NU.nl. “The taxi has become involved in a serious traffic accident at Marsa Alam,” a spokesperson told NU.nl.

“The police have announced that various people were killed in this accident, including our travelers.” The couple would have just landed in Egypt and went on the road to the holiday destination by taxi.

Local media know that the woman probably had a brain haemorrhage and skull fracture. She is still resuscitated, but without success.
