In an apartment building on the Korfakker in Eindhoven, a man was seriously injured on Sunday evening by a flammable liquid. The victim was taken to a field by an ambulance, on Gibeonstraat. There a trauma helicopter landed to help him and fly to the burn center. The man died later in the hospital.
The accident happened on Sunday evening around half past seven. Presumably in the flat a cleaning agent, such as bassenzine or turpentine, has caught fire. The man became partly burned, but so serious that there is a fear for his life.
Trauma helicopter
Several ambulances were used to help the victim. The man is on the field where the trauma helicopter landed for some time treated by the trauma doctor. At ten past nine the trauma helicopter rose with the man on board towards the Burns Center in Rotterdam.
That an adult victim is included in the trauma helicopter is exceptional because there is not much room to treat someone during the flight.
A lot of attention
The use of all emergency services attracted a lot of attention in the neighborhood. It took the police to keep everyone at a distance.
