At the end of the sports winter, Lindsey Vonn reached a milestone. A short time later, she has to accept a bitter setback.
Ski star Lindsey Mourn for her bitch Lucy. The American said goodbye to her in an emotional Instagram post. “She came into my life nine years ago, and from the first to the last moment she brought so much light and love for me and everyone who she met,” wrote Vonn. “There was nothing that Lucy couldn’t do! She was never afraid, never hesitated to try something new, she was always happy, loved unconditionally.”
In January 2022 she had to accept the death of her dog Bear. He had died of an aggressive tumor. Now her second bitch died with Lucy. “I know that she is in heaven with my mother, Bear and our family. I imagine how they all romp around together, happy and without pain.”
Finally, Vonn, who recently made it as the oldest ski racer in history at the age of 40, wrote to her deceased pet at a World Cup race (2nd place at the Super-G in Sun Valley): “Lucy, you will always be my light.”
After all: her third dog Leo, already twelve years old, is obviously well. “I am grateful to still have him,” said Vonn.
