Manchester City has struggled with the semi-finals in the FA Cup with a lot of trouble the last title chance of the disappointing season so far. The troublesome English champion of coach Pep Guardiola prevailed 2-1 (0: 1) against the league competitor AFC Bournemouth after the meanwhile. In the fight for the endgame ticket, Manchester now meets Nottingham Forest, which continued with coach Fabian Hürzeler through a 4: 3 penalty shootout against Brighton.
Host Bournemouth initially took the lead through Evanilson (21st minute). Haaland had previously awarded the chance to lead for City by a shot penalty. The Norwegian ensured four minutes after the break to compensate for the fifth in the table of the Premier League, which is 22 points behind leader FC Liverpool.

Second semi -finals between Aston Villa and Crystal Palace
Thanks to a clear 3-0 against the traditional second division club Preston North End, Aston Villa also made it into the semi -finals. The villans meet Crystal Palace in the preliminary round, which qualified for the next round in the quarter -finals in the quarter -finals with a 3-0 against FC Fulham. Marcus Rashford (58./ 63.) with his first two goals for Aston Villa, one of them by penalty, and Jacob Ramsey (71st) made the move into the preliminary round perfect.
The semi-finals will be held on the last weekend in April. The final of the English cup competition traditionally takes place on May 17th in the London Wembley Stadium. In 2024, City lost to the Manchester United city rival in the final.
