Prussia Münster and Eintracht Braunschweig separated 1-1 (1: 1) in the 2nd Bundesliga on Sunday. The guests took the lead with a flash gate through Richmond Tachie (1. minute). Marc Lorenz (4th) equalized almost immediately by penalty. In the table cellar, the draw hardly helps both teams.
Prussia remains in 15th place in the table with 27 points and thus three points ahead of Eintracht Braunschweig, which is still on relegation rank 16. Both coaches were quite agreed afterwards in the evaluation. So Münsters said Sascha Hildmann: “We have to decide that due to Eder’s chances in the first half. In the second it could have overturned.” His counterpart at BTSV, Daniel Schering, took it even more “performance -based” together.
Lightning start of Münster and Braunschweig
The teams noticed from the start that they tried to make no mistakes as possible. The first chance to avoid errors went wrong after eight seconds: Braunschweig took the lead with the second fastest goal of the second division history. Sebastian Polter forwarded a long pass after the kick -off on the tachie, which finished into the far corner with force. But Münster shook briefly and answered quickly: an unnecessary foul Polter gave the Prussians a penalty that Lorenz turned on the right with the help of the interior post.
After these wild first minutes, the game calmed down. It only got dangerous again after around 15 minutes when Fridjonsson failed at the Braunschweig goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann. The hosts continued to earn the better final matters. Once again it was Fridjonsson who completed – the crossbar saved the guests after around half an hour. After that, the hosts were superior to the game, but great chances did not jump out until the break.
Braunschweig better in halftime two
After the change of sides, the spectators on Hammer Straße saw another picture: Now it was Braunschweig that in its best phase earned the much better occasions: First, the guests gave a double chance (50th), then Johan Gómez grabbed a few minutes later and finally Münster was very lucky when a header from Jannis Nikolaou was out of the latte at the post and then again towards the field (62.).
Then the Münsterers caught something again and designed the game balanced. Niko Koulis almost even gave the Prussians in the lead with the lead before the final quarter of an hour broke. In this, hardly anything happened at first because both teams shy away from the last risk and waited for the opponent’s mistake. Münster pushed a little more to equalize, but Eintracht defended all possibilities passionately and ultimately earned the point.
