By achieving the semi -finals in Girona in Girona, De Jong assured himself from a place in the Top 100 of the World Ranking from next Monday, with place 98. That is the highest ranking in his career. He started the tournament as the number 105. Cilic is currently the number 143, but the 36-year-old Kroaat was once third in the ATP ranking.
