1. Bambi from 1942 = no deer
Bambi is not a deer! At least not in the Disney film from 1942. The Austrian forest and meadow investigative portal Jagdfakten.at clarifies: Because of its easy-to-see tail, the cinema bambi must be a young white fronding deer-and therefore a calf.

The Nazis burned “Bambi”! The book template for the animal drama is the novel “Bambi. A life story from the forest” from 1922, written by the Jewish writer Felix Salten from Vienna. The mayor of the city was Karl Lueger until 1910, rushing anti -Semite. Salten built in his book a number of metaphors that tell of the political climate of that time: the game is one of the few species that do not live in a cave, a building or a nest – and is therefore almost “stateless”, like Judaism back then. Bambi’s father speaks of a “promised country” in the book that can offer protection. There is a fox and a dog’s following dog, with which onters betrayal and pogroms anticipate.
