An 8th Dan doesn’t just happen like that. The two head coaches from the club in Bruges started their careers at Do Jang in 1986. About 40 years later, an – almost – ultimate reward for their decades of dedication to the sport follows.
Almost, because the founder of Taekwondo Chin Do Jang, Chin Yun Sup, obtained his 9th Dan. The highest possible rank, by the way. For this wonderful award, he had to write a thesis, complete an internship and submit an extensive CV. If the Van Vlaenderen brothers also want to achieve the highest rank, such an exam will await them within 9 years.
